This winter’s newest restaurants in Val d’Isère
Step out of the cold and into the hottest new dining scene on your next luxury ski holiday to Val d’Isère. Whether you’re a food enthusiast or simply looking for a stylish spot to indulge, these three new openings are not to be missed:
Le Bottleneck:
Firstly, following in the footsteps of the original and much revered restaurant in Courchevel 1850’s Le K2 Palace, we look forward to the opening of the new Le Bottleneck, at Le K2 Chogori Val d’Isère. Replacing L’Altiplano 2.0, diners this winter can expect to see traditional Savoyard cuisine being elevated to reach new heights. Much like its namesake, which is inspired by the legendary climb up the face of the K2, with the Bottleneck being the important yet narrow route to reach the mountain’s summit.
With Bernard Mure-Ravaud, a “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” cheesemaker and Le K2 Hotel’s executive chef Valentin Biseul behind the scenes, you can equally expect your palate to summit. Don’t forget to leave space to indulge in their dessert menu, highlighting delicious twists on timeless French patisserie.
The Ima:
For those seeking their dishes paired with a vibrant atmosphere, look no further than The Ima. Taking residency where Dick’s Tea Bar once featured, your next luxury ski holiday will still be one to remember as day turns to night.
Start your experience with dishes that showcase creativity and quality ingredients, as the Near East comes to the Alps. Ima, meaning “mum” will transport guests from a space where they feel at home to one where they can celebrate through an innovative and daring dining experience, created by Executive Chef Elie Fishmann. As can be expected from Val d’Isère’s luxury dining scene, dishes will be accompanied by a selection of fine wines, refined spirits and cocktails to be talked about long after. Sip and stay a while, as once plates are cleared, so are tables and the space is transformed into your dance floor for the night.
La Folie Douce - Gare Centrale:
As another day dawns over this luxury ski resort, skiers and pedestrians alike can look forward to tempting their taste buds and senses yet further with a new gourmet epicentre at La Folie Douce. Where once La Petite Cuisine would be a quick refuel before continuing on the world renowned ski slopes, step out of your ski boots and into La Petite Cuisine - Gare Centrale. This 650m2 new foodie hub, focuses on truly bringing together all that La Folie Douce has to offer - locally sourced produce ensuring freshness and quality, bars, performances, workshops and boutique shopping. Don’t forget to also feast your eyes on the newly remodelled interiors too, drawing inspiration from the elegant, sculptured lines of New York’s Guggenheim.
With these new restaurants bringing fresh flavours and stylish ambiances to a luxury Alpine dining scene, let us be the ones to introduce and seduce you this winter.
