New Lift for Le Fornet, Val d'Isère

With Le Fornet home to three of our stunning luxury catered chalets and one luxury bed and breakfast chalet, we’re big fans of the area - huge in fact. Le Fornet is where we opened our first luxury catered chalet and where we’ve had the privilege to call home for the last fourteen winters. Hideouts are what we live for and whether you’re nestle along the river or hidden in the the larch forrest, Le Fornet delivers and it’s about to get even better.

Set above 2,700m, Le Fornet is one of the highest villages across the Alps and offers easy access to some of the best skiing in the Val d’Isère Tignes region including the super Pisaillas Glacier at 3,185m. It also has some of the best back country skiing in the region. But the Vallon chair, built in 1983, was always painfully slow, not to mention small and cold. Opening for Winter 24/25, the upgraded Vallon chairlift will whisk skiers and snowboarders to dizzy heights in luxury 10 person cabins with wifi taking just 6.5 minutes.

The Le Fornet area is well know for it’s wildlife and nature lovers will be thrilled to learn that this re-development will remove 30 pylons enabling parts of the mountainside to be returned to it’s natural state. As it follows the existing route to ensure minimal disruption whilst transplanting any protected flowers that grow in the area.
