Hotel & Spa
Le Refuge de Solaise is probably the most talked about hotel in the Alps right now. It is the highest in France and boasts alpine luxury perched high on the Solaise mountain peak at the giddy heights of 2551m, some 700m above the village. The views and isolation are what the refuge does best giving you first tracks in the morning, combined with a beautiful restaurant and a sublime spa this is definitely one of our recommendations when visiting Val d'Isere.
The alpine chic design, incorporating ancient woods and carefully associated fabrics, is felt throughout the three private apartments and eighteen rooms and suites. The fourteen-bedroom dormitory is an excellent inclusion perfect for single travellers or groups seeking a special elevated experience. With a distinctive, rustic style Jean-Charles Covarel and Jean-Claude Borel have created a beautiful mountain hideaway, suiting all types of traveller.
In complete luxury, the spa area offers the ultimate in altitude relaxation. Designed to let you unwind and escape the spa area features a sizeable twenty-five metre swimming pool, sauna, hammam and various treatment rooms.

Location
The enviable location of Le Refuge is only accessible via the slopes and the Solaise Gondola lift, offering incredible views and an 'away from the rest of the world' feeling.
Benefiting from sunrise two hours earlier than the rest of the resort permits you to carve those first tracks into the mountainside, long before the piste has been touched by anyone else. Not only does the sun rise earlier but you can also enjoy three further hours of sunset drinks and dining before watching the sky open up to a canvas of stars at night.
Once the ski lifts close, it is important to note there is no possibility of travelling to the village.
