Location
Perched right on the slopes at Courchevel Moriond 1650 at the end of the Belvedere piste, around two-hundred and fifty feet from the lift, this beautiful luxury Courchevel hotel offers spectacular views of the mountains. This idyllic location extends guests the opportunity to ski directly back to the door. The local slopes total one-hundred and fifty kilometres of runs with Courchevel 1650 being the more relaxed and family-friendly of Courchevel's four villages. Courchevel 1850, with its flashy five-star hotels and designer boutiques, is just a short ten minute drive away.
Design
If you're familiar with The Pig and Lime Wood hotels, you'll know exactly what to expect from Le Portetta - think sheepskin rugs, wood timber, Bamford products and a cosy atmosphere - bringing a Cotswolds-esque country house aesthetic to the Alps.
Le Portetta has been in existence for the past thirty years. However in 2008 it was gutted and rebuilt from scratch, increasing its size and adding to the range of facilities offer. The thirty-eight rooms all overlook either the piste or the mountain, as well as six stylish fully equipped duplex lofts on the top two floors which have balconies, open log fires and stunning views over Courchevel Moriond and beyond. Food & Other Facilities
Le Portettas in-house restaurant, 'Cucina Angelina' is known as one of Courchevel's best spots to dine. A combination of classic and modern French and Italian cuisine using fresh locally sourced ingredients. The menus change seasonally and even daily, so guests can always try something new.
As the largest terrace in 1650, the 'Fire and Ice Bar' serves up wood-fired pizzas and a variety of fun cocktails. At lunchtime, head for an alfresco bite to eat at the foot of the slopes or make it your meeting point for some après ski ice shots!
